Famous as one of the largest private residencies in the world, Umaid Bhawan Palace is a marvel built by Maharaja Umaid Singh and was the last royal palace built in India before independence, making it the youngest of all royal palaces. Spread over 26 acres, Umaid Bhawan Palace is one part palace, one part hotel and one part museum.
An interesting fact about this property is that it was built for a noble cause - to provide employment to famine-struck locals, thus acting as a symbol of hope.
